About Helen
I have been a practicing Chartered Physiotherapist for thirty years, working across the NHS, private practices and local sports teams and, as a result, I have built up extensive experience in treating a range of acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions, with a specialist interest in neck dysfunction and pain.
I became a qualified APPI Clinical Pilates Instructor in 2010, initially to assist my physiotherapy work. The use of Pilates is a key element in my approach to help all age groups recover from injury and pain and enables me to provide safe exercise programmes for patients to use at home and see the benefits.

Over this time, I have increasingly offered Pilates classes in the local area through West Surrey Pilates as well as working through local private clinics in Cranleigh and Dorking.

Each class focuses on improving the strength, flexibility and posture of the whole body, with an emphasis on core strength that can help to support the spine. Regular classes will help to improve your overall fitness and strength.
Pilates can relieve stress through better breathing control, plus you will also notice a real change in your core stability, postural alignment, balance and coordination, even from one hour / week of class time! Pilates can also be a safe and gentle form of exercise for clients with osteoporosis.

My classes are limited to a small number of clients to ensure close supervision and are therefore suitable for any age or level of fitness.
